Chute de Singapore. Après Pearl Harbor, joyaux américain, c'est un fleuron de l'Empire Britannique qui tombe à son tour. De nombreux timbres commémorent cet événement (Michel Occupation Japonaise Province du Hopei 106/107, Province du Shansi Nos 162/163, et Y&T Marshall No 389, Japon Nos 318/19, Malacca occupation japonaise Nos 39/40)).
