| Description |
English: Caer Noddfa There is little to be seen of this earthwork on the ground (and not much more from the air). It is thought to be the site of a Roman fort and was excavated in 1909. The Knights Hospitaller established a grange here in the late 13th century which became a place of sanctuary in the Middle Ages. Noddfa means sanctuary.
The hill in the background is Pen y Pigyns. |
