Looking towards a very misty Slieu Dhoo. Some extra details about this subject have become available, kindly provided by David Radcliffe, who I quote below. "Technically I think they are on The Rheast and there are three cairns, the top two are very obvious with their quartz stones on top, but there is a third lower cairn which is a just a green patch. The top one was excavated and revealed a burial urn which was unfortunately dropped by the labourer hired by Canon Quine to excavate it. About 3 metres west of the top cairn is a standing stone which is lying almost flat." |
