English: Cairnsmore of Fleet from the east At over 2000ft Cairnsmore is one of the most dominant features of the Solway Coast between Gatehouse of Fleet and Newton Stewart. The profile of the hill is much more defined from this viewpoint. The easier ascents (by well defined paths) are from Cairnsmore Farm on the western side. The outline of the hill looks smooth and inviting in this shot but there are some steep and dangerous crags on some approaches. |
