Summary edit

Description The California Army National Guard's 40th Brigade Support Battalion had a opportunity to train some of their Soldiers in sling load operations during annual training at Camp Roberts, June 14, 2014. A CH-47 Chinook from Stockton's Bravo Co. 1-126th Aviation Regiment flew to their area of operations and provided the training, which involved wrapping cases of Meals-Ready-to-Eat in cargo nets and connecting them to the underbelly of the helicopter as it hovers a few feet above their heads while trying to stand firm in the rotor blast. Another treat offered to the troops was a ride with some able to see the cable connection process from inside the cabin of the helicopter. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Master Sgt.
