This photograph of the Canal Gardens is facing west toward Old Park Road.

The canal, which lies between Old Park Road and Princess Avenue was never a working water way but created as a linear pond. It contains ornamental wild-fowl. (See Leeds City Council web site: http://www.leeds.gov.uk/page.aspx?pageidentifier=2763FCB218F2991E80256E1B003E3200 )

The data given for the date taken is the processing date on the slide and therefore could have been taken several weeks earlier.
