Description
English: Surviving population of the en:War of Canudos, in Brazil, en:1897, after a peasant rebellion was crushed by the en:Brazilian Army. Many of the survivors escaped later to larger cities, where they lived in shanty towns (en:favelas).
Deutsch: Überlebende Bevölkerung des Krieges von Canudos in Brasilien 1897, nachdem eine Rebellion der Landbevölkerung durch die Brasilianische Armee niedergeschlagen worden war. Viele der Überlebenden flohen später in größere Städte, wo sie in Favelas lebten.
Français : Survivants de la guerre de Canudos dans le nord-est du Brésil, en 1897, après que la rébellion paysanne dirigée par Antônio Conselheiro eut été écrasée par l'armée régulière brésilienne.
