Summary

edit
Description Built around 1790 by Captain Steven Sawyer to replace the original house built by Ebenezer Webster, the father of Daniel Webster, after the family moved to the lowlands near the Merrimack River. The house originally contained one room of the original, moved to the rear ell, but upon the restoration of the original house in 1910, a new rear ell was built in its stead to keep the house in one piece. The house later fell into severe disrepair, though it recently went through an extensive exterior restoration.
