Afrikaans: Motor wat einde-2013 naby die N’waswitshaka-watergat in die suidelike Krugerwildtuin deur 'n olifantbul omgestoot is, nadat die bestuurder nie op 'n skynstormloop gereageer het nie. Die olifant is later dieselde dag deur veldwagters doodgeskiet om te voorkom dat dit ander motors of stappers aanval.
English: Car trashed by African Elephant in Kruger National Park, South Africa. Mr Jans de Klerk (a South African living in the UK) and Ms Sarah Brooks (a UK citizen) were driving in the southern part of the KNP near N’waswitshaka Waterhole, south of the Phabeni tar road, following a bull elephant at 30-40 meters distance. After a mock charge and posturing, the elephant bull in musth attacked the stationary car and rolled it some 20 meters into thick bush. Later the same day the elephant, injured from a previous fight, was shot by rangers as it was believed to pose a danger to other vehicles or hiking groups in the area. Ms Brooks was injured and hospitalized.[1] |
