Description
In 1896 the steamship company Turisten was established in Aarhus, to provide transport from the city to the popular establishments in the Marselisborg Forest to the south. The first vessel, Turisten could not handle the demands alone, so in 1897, the Marselisborg was bought from the yard of Eriksberg's mekaniska Verksted in Gothenburg, Sweden and a new Turisten (also from Eriksberg) followed in 1899. The two were very similar, so this could be any one of them, shown at one of the small piers on the beach, probably at Varna or Ørnereden. The experts at Bruun Rasmussen identified the pier as the one at Silistria, which seems unlikely, as it was built in 1914. https://aarhuswiki.dk/wiki/Skovb%C3%A5den_Marselisborg (in Danish).
