Summary
editDescriptionCarn Galver Mine - geograph.org.uk - 1447330.jpg |
English: Carn Galver Mine The two engine houses would have been for pumping and winding. The pumping engines were usually bigger and the beam was over the shaft, whilst the winding engines were smaller, at 90 degrees to the pumping house and some distance from the shaft. Unusually the nearer engine house has survived better at the back - usually the more massive bob wall has greater resilience than the relatively (!) light side and rear walls. |
