Title
English: Carrie Rodgers with bouquet on SS David Rodgers launch day, Seattle, February 9, 1918
Description
English:

David Rodgers (1865-1923) was a master shipfitter who worked at the Puget Sound Naval Station, Moran Brothers Company, Seattle Construction & Drydock Company, and was general manager at the Skinner & Eddy Corporation shipyard in Seattle from 1916 until 1919. Under Rodgers' management, the crew broke production speed records for ship construction and completed more ships for the U. S. war effort than any other American shipyard. Rodgers' wife, Canadian-born Carrie B. (King) Rodgers (1867-1947), was a sponsor for the Skinner & Eddy-built SS David Rodgers, and is shown here on launch day posed while holding a bouquet of flowers. The SS David Rodgers was in service as a freighter until 1951.
