Description
English: Map of the Duchy of Mantua designed by Guillaume Sanson (1633-1703) and published in Amsterdam by map publisher Pieter Mortier in 1703. This map was published "for the use of the (French) armies in Italy" in the early years of the War of the Spanish Succession and contains some detail about French and Imperial (Austrian) troop position and movement.
This same map was published in colors by Covens & Mortier also in Amsterdam in 1760.
