Description
English: Front and western side of the Carthage Jail, located at the intersection of Walnut and Fayette Streets in Carthage, Illinois, United States. Here was killed the founder of Mormonism, Joseph Smith, Jr.. The building is now owned by the LDS Church and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
