Español: En el año 1533, el monasterio cartujo de Sevilla contrata a Isidro de Villoldo (†1560) para el retablo mayor de la iglesia monástica, retablo que terminaría su amigo y compañero de taller en Ávila, Juan Bautista Vázquez, el Viejo. Este hecho artístico ocasionará la llegada de la escultura castellana a la ciudad renacentista. El Calvario de la Cartuja de Sevilla está datado entre 1553 y 1555, madera policromada y estofada. |
