Description

A Casa dos Paivas ou da Roda foi construída no século XVI, no centro histórico de Braga. No final do século XIX, a Câmara Municipal de Braga aluga o imóvel, onde instalou o "Hospício dos Expostos" ou "Casa da Roda", que seria a última casa da Roda em Braga, daí a sua designação actual. Em 1986 é adquirido pela Câmara Municipal. O edifício é requalificado e classificado como Imóvel de Interesse Público.

O edifício foi construído com materiais de edifícios anteriores, esta reutilização confere-lhe um aspecto original. O edifício é caracterizado por um estilo renascentista Florentino. As arestas do edifício em pedra, a simetria, a estética e a harmonia são os aspectos mais marcantes.
