A cast iron urinal or 'pissoir' in College Street, Glasgow, in 1866

Summary

edit
Description
English: The urinal in College Street, Glasgow, was one of many installed in the city from 1850 to 1854. Made of cast iron, it is a type pioneered by Walter McFarlane and Company of the Saracen Foundry in Glasgow. The urinal is made of ornamental cast iron panels, pierced to provide ventilation, and designed to completely conceal the users from view. It is pictured here in a photograph of the old Glasgow College taken in 1866 by Thomas Annan.
