Description

El Castell de Subirats és un esplèndid mirador sobre el Penedès i les muntanyes de Montserrat.

Fou un dels primers castells construïts a inicis dels segle X quan Sunyer, comte de Barcelona, inicià la conquesta del Penedès als sarraïns. El castell de frontera, amb una imponent torre de 19 metres d’alçada i l’església romànica de Sant Pere del Castell, avui Santuari de la Mare de Déu de la Font Santa, són el testimoni de les històries que s’amaguen fins que la fortificació pervisqué, acabada la Guerra dels Segadors (s. XVII).
