Français : Les glacières de la rue Roger Salengro à Castelnau-le-Lez sont en parfait état de conservation. Elles s’apparentant à de parfait igloos construits en pierre de taille de la région. Elle dateraient selon des rapports d’inspection de 1686 et 1729, qui font état d’une réserve de 600 quintaux de glace. On entreposait ici en hiver la glace et ou la neige récoltées dans les rivières, marais et aux alentours pour la conservation des denrées alimentaires. Lors la glace venait à manquer, on allait s’approvisionner en charrette à l'Espérou et même au Mont Ventoux.
English: The coolers of Roger Salengro Street in Castelnau-le-Lez are in perfect state of conservation. They resemble the perfect igloos built from the size of the area. It would date according to inspection reports of 1686 and 1729, which report a reserve of 600 quintals of ice. The ice and or snow collected in the rivers, marshes and surrounding areas for the conservation of foodstuffs was stored here in winter. When the ice was running out, we were going to buy a cart at the Espérou and even at Mont Ventoux. |
