Description

O castelo de origem árabe, reconstruído no séc. XIII, possuía umas muralhas impressionantes, parte das quais ainda se podem ver, e 3 torres de alvenaria. A vila de Loulé era originalmente cercada pelas muralhas, constituindo este espaço o núcleo político, religioso e habitacional. No entanto, o crescimento da população levou a que a então vila se expandisse para além daquelas e formasse os pilares da cidade que hoje conhecemos. Adossado à muralha encontramos o edifício da Alcaidaria, antiga habitação do Alcaide da Vila, onde actualmente funcionam o Posto de Turismo de Loulé, o Arquivo Histórico Municipal e o Museu. <a href="http://www.cm-loule.pt/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=232&Itemid=254" rel="nofollow">www.cm-loule.pt/index.php?option=com_content&task=vie...</a>
