English: Castelsarrasin Tarn-et-Garonne, France - Église Saint-Sauveur - Monument to saint Alpinien. Saint Alpinien (3rd century) patron saint of the city of Castelsarrasin. Companion with saint Austriclinien of Saint Martial he is native of Orient. They are cited in the sixth century by Gregory of Tours. Saint Alpinien is sometimes represented with a hammer because, according to the legend, he would have sprung a spring in Tarn (commune of Aixe-sur-Vienne) by throwing it. He was buried in the abbey of Saint-Martial in Limoges, then in Ruffec (Indre). His memory is invoked to heal the possessed. Relics of the saint are preserved in Limoges, Ruffec (Indre), Rouffignac (Dordogne), Castelsarrasin (Tarn-et-Garonne). The right arm is preserved since the 13th century in the church Saint Sauveur of Castelsarrasin Saint Alpinien is celebrated on April 27th.

Compagnon avec saint Austriclinien de Saint Martial il est originaire d'Orient. Ils sont cités dés le VIe siècle par Grégoire de Tours. Saint Alpinien est parfois représenté avec un marteau car, d'après la légende, il aurait fait jaillir une source à Tarn (commune d'Aixe-sur-Vienne) en le lançant. Il a été inhumé dans l'abbaye de Saint-Martial à Limoges, puis à Ruffec (Indre). Sa mémoire est invoquée pour guérir les possédés. Des reliques du saint sont conservées à Limoges, Ruffec (Indre), Rouffignac (Dordogne), Castelsarrasin (Tarn-et-Garonne). Le bras droit est conservé depuis le XIIIe siècle en l'église Saint Sauveur de Castelsarrasin Saint Alpinien est fêté le 27 avril.
