Summary
editDescriptionCastletown River and the Carran turlough - geograph.org.uk - 150824.jpg |
English: Castletown River and the Carran turlough This is the largest enclosed depression on the Burren, and Ireland's highest turlough (110m OD). Springs on its north side drain south to a mud-choked sinkhole at its southern end. After heavy rain the whole depression floods to a depth of several metres, draining only slowly. |
