Casualties brought out to LST 357 aboard an LCT, with its crewmen (above) ready to throw a line so they can be tied alongside ramp-to-ramp. Thus, stretchers could simply be carried aboard by hospital corpsmen, seen below wearing Red Cross armbands, a far more expeditious method than the over-the-side slings of D-Day. Corpsmen wearing Red Cross Armbands look over a mixed load of casualties - American and German POWs. [Prisoners of war.] [Litters. Transport of sick and wounded.] [Boats.] [World War 2. European Theater.] [Scene.]
