Hillside, Chateauguay Basin, Can., ) February 20, 1895. / Mr. Gunn : Dear Sir :—The "Alice" reached me safely and was a surprise indeed, for it is certainly very good for this season of the year, and seems what we are looking for, a "winter grape." Thank you, very much, for sending it. We ars grape-gi'owers quite extensively and study the merits and demerits closely. I shall hope to hear from you when the vines are on the market. My only doul)t is whether the vine would stand the severity of our Canadian climate. I should like to try it. Yours truly, Annie T^. Jack. From The Orange County Farmer, 1 February 28, 1895. / The Alice is Truly a Wonderful Grape.—A few days ago there came to The Farmer office a j^acka^^c of the Alice grape.s, grown by Ward D. Gunn, Clinton- dale, N. Y. They came in fine condition, for so late in the .season, proving the claims for it of superior keeping qualities. See collections page 4 for price of Alice Grape, with other new fruits.
