Summary
editDescriptionCatching Fruit flies - Fruit fly trap in the garden - Pereybere, Mauritius - October 2012.jpg |
Catching fruit flies, and not losing the old bananas to other animals bigger than flies meant hanging a bottle, usually from a branch with a piece of string. Pereybere Mauritius, October 2012. The success of the fruit trap in attracting flies was dependent on its location in the garden. Under some trees only a few flies were trapped, but under a fruit tree such as a mango tree or a banana palm there was a good chance of catching more. Probably pretty reasonable concept if you think about it. |
