Deutsch: Karl Cauer (1828–1885, Sohn Emil Cauers sen. und Bruder Robert Cauers sen.; sonstige Verwandtschaftsverhältnisse siehe unter Cauer-Familie): Grabengel für den Bergbau-Unternehmer Wilhelm Endemann (* 16. August 1809 in Bochum, † 28. Mai 1891 in Bonn) auf dem Alten Friedhof Bonn. Die Bezeichnung Bergwerksbesitzer auf dem Grabstein bezieht sich darauf, dass Endemann durch Mutung und Verkauf von Grubenfeldern an der Gründung etlicher Zechen beteiligt war (Mont Cenis und Von der Heydt in Herne, Shamrock in Wanne-Eickel). In dem Buch The German Bourgeoisie (Hrsg. Blackbourn und Evans, Routledge-Verlag, New York 1993, S. 98) heißt es, Endemann habe Theologie studieren wollen, sei aber von seinem Vater, einem Brauereibesitzer, Schankwirt, Landwirt und Bäcker, gedrängt worden, 1825 in das Familienunternehmen einzutreten. |
