English: Causeway and seaweed The causeway to Mweenish Island passes over an intermediate island as it crosses the tidal watershed between Ard Bay and Mweenish Bay. This is the western section of the causeway, which appears to be of fairly modern construction, built roughly with large granite blocks piled up on the beach and a road laid on finer stones above them. The large accumulation of seaweeds collecting at the high-tide mark of the wide bay is a characteristic of the area. |
