| Description |
According to local newspaper reports hundreds gathered to celebrate Chinese new year in Wolfe Tone Park on Dublin’s Jervis Street today. While there may have been a good attendance at the event it was, in my opinion, somewhat disappointing especially because of the limitations of the location which is too small. Also, there were very few Chinese performers and many of the stalls had little or no Chinese connection. The lion dances were worth seeing even if the people inside the lions were Irish rather than Chinese. The 2008 celebration in Smithfield was much better. |
