English: The cenozoic era. Lettering in German. Deutsch: Eine zeitliche Übersicht über das Känozoikum, der jüngsten Ära des Phanerozoikums. Zur Darstellung des Holozäns: Das Holozän kann als das gerade aktuelle Interglazial des Pleistozäns angesehen werden. Deshalb ist die Linie zwischen Holozän und Pleistozän gestrichelt. Das Holozän wird synonym auch als Neo-Interglazial bezeichnet. Andere Namen wären Neo-Warmzeit oder Flandrische Warmzeit. Zur Darstellung des Pleistozäns: Die hauptsächlich verwendete Quelle (Walker, Geissman 2009) gliedert das Pleistozän bloß in Gelasium und Calabrium. Das Calabrium umfasst damit in dieser Abbildung auch jene Zeitabschnitte, die in anderen Quellen gesondert als Ionium (Mittelpleistozän) und Tarantium (Jungpleistozän) ausgewiesen werden: Walker JD, Geissman JW: Geologic Time Scale.
