Chaillac (Indre)

Chevalement de la mine de Rossignol.

Le gisement de Chaillac, situé entre le Bassin Parisien et le Massif Central, est composé d'une strate de barytine et d'un filon de fluorite.

La mine du Rossignol exploitée jusqu'en 1997 donnait fluorite, barytine, pyromorphite, cérusite, wulfénite, galène, pyrite, quartz.

Le gisement du Rossignol fut exploité en galeries souterraines, le filon est identifié sur près de 1 000 mètres de longueur, et 250 mètres de profondeur.
