| Description |
Champtoceaux (Maine-et-Loire) La Loire et l'île Neuve-Macrière. L'île Neuve-Macrière mesure 4,1 km sur 320 m dans dans ses dimensions maximales, pour une surface de 83 ha. Elle est située en réalité sur la commune de Oudon (Loire-Atlantique). L'île est partagée entre plus d'une dizaine de propriétaires. L'île Neuve-Macrière est souvent confondue, y compris dans les dépliants touristiques, avec l'île Neuve située 8 km en aval, qui ne fait que 47 ha. Des dragages effectués durant l'hiver 1986, au niveau de la pointe amont de l'île Neuve-Macrière, ont révélé un abondant mobilier archéologique néolithique-ancien : céramiques, silex, objets en bois de cerf, os et dents de bovins et de suidés, ainsi que des pieux. |
