| Description |
English: Chapel Hill Pleasure Grounds, Torquay I did not realise this old pottery sign next to a footpath from Barton Hill Road down through to the main road into Torquay was incomplete. Only later did I see what it should have been in full: Chapel Hill Pleasure Grounds. Although I have lived in the area for about 30 years, I had never ventured down this public footpath until recently. I once saw a friend disappearing through it from the other end in 1979, though, so I knew it went somewhere. I wonder what the "pleasure grounds" were originally? |
