| Description |
English: South staircase near the NRHP listed Chappaqua Railroad Depot and Depot Plaza on the Metro-North Harlem Line in Chappaqua, New York. The station house, which is far off to the right from this picture, was built in 1902 by the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad and was among others built as a replacement for earlier stations, some of which were built by the New York and Harlem Railroad, The staircase was built between 1983 and 1984 by Metro-North Railroad using the original Chatham-bound low-level platform at the base, and leads to a pedestrian bridge over the tracks with an elevator to the high-level central platform. Behind this staircase is a second elevator shaft that also leads to that pedestrian bridge. |
