Description

Two framed images hang on a white, wood-paneled wall. To the left is a framed portrait of an older white man in a 20th Century style suit. To the right is a photo of an 18th Century stitched sampler. Both have captions affixed to the walls below.

This corner of exhibits shows to the left a large portrait of Daniel Devore, a 20th Century owner of Chatham, and to the right, a copy of a sampler made by a Fitzhugh family member recounting the early deaths of her siblings and ultimately her own as well.
