Summary edit

Description

Bear Run, State Game Land 295, Clinton County.

The stream cascades through a talus-filled hollow between Bear Mountain and Sugar Valley Mountain. Along the stream are dense stands of rhododendron, hemlocks, sweet birches, and white pines. The hemlocks are heavily infested with the hemlock woolly adelgid, an exotic insect pest. The neighboring Cherry Run drainage area has a much healthier stand of hemlocks.
