Summary
editDescriptionChicken Chute on the Orchy - geograph.org.uk - 1657456.jpg |
English: Chicken Chute on the Orchy The first serious rapid on the River Orchy is called Chicken Chute, after a zigzag channel river left, leading to this diagonal chute bypassing the more serious rapid river right. This route was barely negotiable at this level, which was very low owing to the extreme cold - that is hoar frost on the foreground rocks, and the white background is not sky, but dazzlingly sunlit snow on the hills. |
