She has no well-equipped house, commensurate with her needs, to permit an exclusive indoor market. The long, low shed is an antiquated building, still devoted to its original purposes, on a decreasing scale. It was built in the ante-bellum days of '53. Central Market is within two squares of the principal business thoroughfare. It covers five squares in length and one to three on intersecting streets. The district becomes so congested as to impede traffic."
