DescriptionChinese head, Nanking massacre.jpg |
English: Gibbeted head of a Chinese man, done by the Japanese military in China. This photo appeared in Life magazine on January 10, 1938. The caption stated that the head was of an anti-Japanese Chinese man and had been placed there on "December 14, just before the fall of Nanking." However, December 14 was not before the fall of Nanking, it was just after but mopping-up operations continued until December 17. |
