English: The Agony in the Garden, Christ Praying. Altar painting (1757) by Bernhard Rode in St. Mary's Church, Berlin. In the distance, the disciples are sleeping. The angel, which has strengthened the Savior, cannot bear viewing His anguish of the soul and covers its averted face with its hand.
Deutsch: Christus am Ölberge betend. Atarbild in der Marienkirche Berlin (Bernhard Rode 1757). Die Jünger in der Entfernung schlafen. Der Engel, welcher den Heiland gestärkt hat, kann den Anblick seiner Seelenangst nicht ertragen, und verhüllt sich mit der Hand das abgewandte Gesicht.
