Description
English: Convent of Our Lady of Orada, (Convento de Nossa Senhora da Orada) is a small chapel close to the Albufeira mariner, Albufeira, Algarve, Portugal. This small church was rebuilt in the 18th century following the collapse of the original building after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. The church was rebuilt principally to serve as a place of worship for local fishermen. A statue of the patron saint of Nossa Senhora da Orada was moved to the Parish Church of Albufeira years ago, but it is brought back to Nossa Sra da Orada every year on August 15th for a special religious ceromony.
