Description
English: Cille Choireil Erected on a superb vantage point high above the road and hidden from it, this church is dedicated to St Cyril. Amongst notables buried here is Ian Lom the famed Gaelic bard. A friend of the Marquis of Montrose he was at the battle of Inverlochy and celebrated the victory in his poem,'The Day of Inverlochy'. It was he who cut the heads off the murderers of the heir to Keppoch MacDonell & washed the 7 heads at the Well of the Heads beside Loch Oich. A carved Celtic stone was erected in the graveyard to his memory in the 19th century.
