Terá existido, em Mangualde, um importante aglomerado urbano, a "Citânia Raposeira", constituída por um variado conjunto de estruturas habitacionais, que se pressupõe ser um núcleo agrário, com os seus banhos privados e áreas cobertas destinadas às diversas funções domésticas e agrícolas. Esta citânia data dos primeiros séculos da nossa era, onde foi encontrado um rico e variado espólio com destaque para um conjunto de moedas da dinastia dos Antoninos.

É arquitectura civil residencial, romana; casa de habitação com banhos privados, provavelmente integrada numa citânia de planície, de características rurais - agrícolas, com alguns vestígios de arquitectura toscana (blocos de entablamento).

Trata-se de uma casa essencialmente agrícola, que não possui a riqueza das vilas romanas já que não há vestígios de mosaicos e outros elementos decorativos. Os pavimentos de tijoleira e pedra revelam menos meios económicos.
