Bouwjaar 1972.

De Citroën SM was het topmodel van Citroën in de jaren zeventig. SM staat nergens voor, alhoewel sommige bronnen zeggen dat het staat voor 'Sa Majesté', wat hare majesteit betekent. Anderen houden het op 'Sport Maserati'.

Er zijn slechts 98 van deze auto's in Nederland verkocht, voor een vanafprijs van toentertijd fl. 36.900,00 (€ 16.745,00). Van die Nederlandse bezitters was Johan Cruijff zonder twijfel de bekendste, al weten maar weinigen dat die auto door Citroën aan hem werd geleased. Later heeft Cruijff een eigen Citroën SM gekocht.
