The Darlison monument of pink granite with ciborium canopy containing an angel sculpture, dedicated to John Joseph Darlison (died November 1910) and his wife Emily Hannah (died 7 August 1947), who lived at Springfield Avenue, Muswell Hill. Also memorialized is their son John Joseph Darlison (born 1 November 1890 at Victoria Park) , who was educated at the Coopers' Company School in Bow E3, and metriculated for Peterhouse College, Cambridge on 21 October 1920, from where he received a B.A.in 1923 and an M.A. in 1927. He had been a lieutenant in the R.F.A from 1917 to 1919. He studied anatomy and physiology at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, then lectured in 'nature subjects'. He received a D.O. from the British School of Osteopathy in 1934, and set up practice at 62 Brook Street, Mayfair, W1., and demonstrated and lectured at the British School of Osteopathy. He was the instigator, founder member and the first Honorary Secretary of the British Institute of Osteopathic Research. In 1936 he wrote and published The New Art of Healing: osteopathy. Some popular questioned answered. A further memorial on the monument is to Doris Darlison (died 26 April 1984), the wife to the younger John Joseph Darlison.
