Cladonia macilenta var. macilenta Hoffm., 1796

Photograph of a herbarium specimen. (Spot test reactions on podetia: PD+ dark yellow-orange, K+ yellow)

These specimens were growing on soil on a rock along Trail 517 about 1 mile from Forest Service Road 19, in the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area of the Monongahela National Forest, Randolph County, West Virginia, USA.

Collected and identified by E.C. Uebel (No. U-47, 19 May 2001).
