| Description |
English: Ex-GWR Pannier tank on empty stock at Clapham Junction. View northward, towards Waterloo and Victoria, also the West London Extension line: ex-LSW and LB&SC main lines. For a few years in the 1950s, ex-GW Pannier 0-6-0Ts were brought in to help with the Clapham Junction - Waterloo empty stock workings: this is '8750' class No. 4681 (built 11/44, withdrawn 12/63). Before passing under the great 'A' signalbox with its wartime steel roof, the train will have been drawn through the carriage-washing plant by West London Junction. |
