Description
English: Built in 1956, this stripped Collegiate Gothic Revival-style building was designed by Trautwine and Howard to house the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Biological Sciences. The building features a limestone-clad exterior, decorative piers, replacement windows, recessed door bays, cartouches, a crenellated parapet, an angled main entrance bay with three doorways, multiple roofs with the building tapering towards the north end of the building, and decorative sconces flanking the entrance doors. The building is a contributing structure in the Schenley Farms Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
