Description
English: SAR Class 16B 805 (4-6-2)
Location: Braamfontein. The young man standing just under the locomotive number plate is a young Ben Schoeman when he was a fireman at Braamfontein Loco and firing to the driver, second from left with the oil can, on Class 16B number 805 that now resides in the Outeniqua Transport Museum in George. The guard is on the left and the fellow inside of Ben Schoeman is believed to be Mechanical Engineer C.T. Long. That young man was destined to rise from the grade of fireman to the Minister of Transport.
