Summary edit

Description

Class 52 'Western' diesel hydraulic No. D1058 "Western Nobleman" (since the demise of D1053 "Western Patriarch" then my favourite) pauses at Taunton with a Paddington - Plymouth £3 excursion on 13/11/1976. D1058 was down to one engine by Westbury on the return working but struggled gamely on to Reading where she was ably assisted to Paddington by class 47 No. 47 505.
