Major H.C.K. Muhlenberg, pioneer aviator Eddie Hubbard and passenger Claude Ramsey flew two planes to the Sand Point Naval Air Station from Camp Lewis in Pierce county as a part of a tree felling ceremony marking the development of the site as an airfield. Sand Point became a Naval Air Station in 1923, one of only five in the nation at that time. PH Coll 537.125
